NC-LTRG coordinates long-term recovery for uninsured and underinsured households in the Lake Village area and northern Newton County — connecting unmet needs with case management, rebuilding support, and community resources.
On March 10, 2026, a tornado struck the Lake Village community and surrounding areas of northern Newton County, causing widespread damage to homes and land. NC-LTRG was formed as a cooperative, community-led body to make sure recovery continues long after initial emergency response ends — for neighbors whose losses aren't fully covered by insurance or federal assistance.
Every case is reviewed individually. Meeting these general guidelines does not guarantee assistance, and support is prioritized by unmet need after insurance and available grants are applied.
Tree and debris removal alone is not a covered need. If you're unsure whether your situation qualifies, reach out below — a case manager can walk you through it.
NC-LTRG is an unincorporated community recovery group and relies on NWI Make a Difference Foundation, Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation (EIN 88-4218595), to serve as its fiscal agent. Donations are made to NWI MAD and are entirely applied to NC-LTRG's recovery mission, with no administrative fee retained. Learn more about NWI MAD →
Every dollar donated to NC-LTRG goes directly to recovery assistance for Newton County households.
